Alpha Intel Labs ("we", "us", or "our") operates the Tara mobile application and website (the "Service"). Tara is an AI-powered astrology advisor that blends Western, Vedic, and Chinese astrology traditions. This Privacy Policy explains how we collect, use, and protect your information when you use our Service.

1. Information We Collect

Account Information

When you create an account, we collect your email address and, if you sign in with Google or Apple, your name and profile information provided by those services.

Birth Data

Tara collects your name, birth date, birth time, and birth location during onboarding. This data is used solely to calculate your astrology charts (natal positions, houses, aspects) and generate your personalized profile. All astronomical calculations are performed locally on our servers using the Swiss Ephemeris — your birth data is never sent to external astrology APIs.

Chat History

Messages you send to the AI advisor and the responses generated are stored to maintain conversation continuity across sessions.

Generated Reports

Daily horoscopes, compatibility reports, deep dive readings, and chart insights created for your account are stored in our database.

Usage Data

We collect basic usage information such as message counts, subscription tier, and feature usage to manage service limits and improve the app.

2. How We Use Your Information

• Provide the Service: Generate personalized astrology profiles, daily horoscopes, compatibility analyses, and AI chat responses based on your natal chart and current planetary transits.
• Account Management: Authenticate your identity, manage subscription status, and enforce usage limits.
• Improve the Service: Understand usage patterns to fix bugs and improve features.
• Communications: Send password reset emails and essential account notifications. We do not send marketing emails.

3. Third-Party Services

We use the following third-party services that may process your data:

• Google Firebase — Authentication, database (Firestore), and web hosting. Firebase Privacy Policy
• AI Language Models — Your astrology profile and chat messages are sent to third-party AI providers to generate personalized responses and readings. We do not use your data to train AI models.
• Google Cloud — Backend hosting and computing infrastructure. Google Cloud Privacy Notice
• Apple / Google — If you purchase a subscription through the App Store or Google Play, your payment is processed by Apple or Google respectively. We do not have access to your payment card details.

4. Data Retention

• Account data (email, birth details, subscription tier) is retained in our database until you delete your account.
• Chat history and reports are retained to provide conversation continuity and allow you to revisit past readings.
• Astrology profiles are regenerated from your birth data when updated and stored persistently for fast access.

5. Your Rights

• Delete your account: You can permanently delete your account and all associated data (profile, chat history, reports, horoscopes) from the Settings screen in the app. This action is irreversible.
• Update your data: You can update your birth details through the profile editor in the app.
• Data export: You may request a copy of your data by emailing us.
• Opt out: You can stop using the Service at any time.

6. Data Security

We use industry-standard security measures to protect your data, including encrypted connections (HTTPS/TLS), Firebase security rules that restrict data access to authenticated users, server-side token verification for all API requests, and per-user rate limiting. However, no method of electronic transmission or storage is 100% secure.

7. Children's Privacy

Tara is not directed at children under 13. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13. If you believe we have collected such information, please contact us and we will promptly delete it.

8. Changes to This Policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. We will notify you of material changes by posting the new policy on this page and updating the effective date. Your continued use of the Service after changes are posted constitutes acceptance of the updated policy.
