Alpha Intel Labs ("we", "us", or "our") operates the Aura Check mobile application and website (the "Service"). This Privacy Policy explains how we collect, use, and protect your information when you use our Service.

1. Information We Collect

Account Information

When you create an account, we collect your email address and, if you sign in with Google or Apple, your name and profile information provided by those services.

Photos

Aura Check uses your device camera or photo library to capture outfit images. These photos are sent to our servers and to a third-party AI service provider for analysis. Photos are processed in real time and are not permanently stored on our servers. They are discarded after the AI analysis is complete.

Device Information

We collect a device identifier to manage free trial limits. This identifier is generated locally and does not contain personally identifiable hardware information.

Usage Data

We collect basic usage information such as the number of scans performed, subscription tier, and feature usage to improve the Service.

2. How We Use Your Information

• Provide the Service: Process your photos through AI analysis, generate outfit critiques and virtual try-on images, and deliver style chat responses.
• Account Management: Authenticate your identity, manage subscription status, and enforce scan limits.
• Improve the Service: Understand usage patterns to fix bugs and improve features.
• Communications: Send password reset emails and essential account notifications. We do not send marketing emails.

3. Service Providers

We rely on a small number of third-party service providers to operate the Service. We name them by the function they perform rather than by brand, because providers may be changed over time as the Service evolves. In every case, providers act on our instructions, may use the data only to deliver their service to us, and are bound by their agreements with us and by applicable data protection law.

• AI analysis providers — Photos you submit are sent to a third-party provider of AI and large language models for outfit analysis and image generation. Photos are processed in real time to generate your result. Our agreements with these providers prohibit the use of your data to train their models.
• Authentication and database providers — Account sign-in, the storage of your account record, and the server functions that run the app.
• Cloud infrastructure providers — The backend computing and hosting on which the Service runs.
• Subscription management providers — Validating purchases and keeping your subscription status in sync across devices.
• App store billing — If you purchase a subscription through the App Store or Google Play, your payment is processed by Apple or Google respectively. We do not receive or have access to your payment card details.

Some of these providers process data outside your country of residence, including in the United States. Where required, transfers are made under appropriate safeguards such as the European Commission's Standard Contractual Clauses. We do not share your personal information with any third party for that party's own marketing or advertising purposes.

4. Data Retention

• Account data (email, subscription tier, scan count) is retained in our database until you delete your account.
• Photos are processed ephemerally — they are sent to the AI for analysis and discarded. They are not stored on our servers after processing.
• Local data (scan history, reference photos, cached results) is stored on your device and can be cleared from the Settings screen in the app.

5. Your Rights

• Delete your account: You can delete your account and all associated data from the Settings screen in the app. This permanently removes your user profile, scan history, and device links from our servers.
• Data export: You may request a copy of your data by emailing us.
• Opt out: You can stop using the Service at any time. Uninstalling the app removes all locally stored data.

6. Data Security

We use industry-standard security measures to protect your data, including encrypted connections (HTTPS/TLS), database security rules that restrict data access to authenticated users, and server-side authentication for all cloud functions. However, no method of electronic transmission or storage is 100% secure.

7. Children's Privacy

Aura Check is not directed at children under 13. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13. If you believe we have collected such information, please contact us and we will promptly delete it.

8. Changes to This Policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. We will notify you of material changes by posting the new policy on this page and updating the effective date. Your continued use of the Service after changes are posted constitutes acceptance of the updated policy.
