Terms of Service

By accessing or using Ahara ("the App"), operated by Alpha Intel Labs ("we", "us", or "our"), you agree to be bound by these Terms of Service. If you do not agree, do not use the App.

1. Description of Service

Ahara is an AI-powered product label analyzer. You photograph product labels (food, beverages, supplements, skincare and cosmetics, toothpaste, medicine, and other consumer products), and the App uses artificial intelligence — specifically, large language models operated by third-party service providers — to read the label text and provide informational analysis of the ingredients, including quality scores, potential allergens, ingredient interactions, comparison between products, follow-up chat, and general commentary. If you choose to record personal goals, the App also returns a “Goal Fit” assessment of how well a product suits them; see Section 5.

2. Important Disclaimers

AI-Generated Content — Accuracy Not Guaranteed

All analysis in Ahara is generated by artificial intelligence. AI systems, including the large language models the App relies on, can and do make mistakes, including but not limited to:

• Misreading labels: The model may incorrectly read, misinterpret, or fail to detect text on product labels, especially with poor image quality, small print, damaged packaging, or non-standard formatting.
• Incorrect ingredient identification: The model may misidentify ingredients, confuse similar-sounding compounds, or fail to recognize ingredients entirely.
• Inaccurate analysis: Scores, safety ratings, interaction warnings, and other assessments may be incorrect, incomplete, outdated, or misleading.
• Missing information: The model may fail to detect allergens, harmful substances, or dangerous ingredient interactions that are present in a product.
• Outdated information: The model's knowledge may not reflect the most current scientific research, regulatory changes, or product reformulations.
• Variation between scans: AI output is not deterministic. Scanning the same product twice may produce differently worded results or different scores.

You should never rely solely on this App to determine whether a product is safe for you or anyone else to consume or use.

Allergen Detection Is Not Reliable

Ahara's allergen detection feature is not a substitute for reading product labels yourself or consulting with an allergist. The App may fail to identify allergens, including hidden forms of common allergens. If you have food allergies, intolerances, or sensitivities, you must always read the actual product label and consult your healthcare provider. Do not rely on this App to determine whether a product is safe if you have allergies — doing so could result in serious injury or death.

Pregnancy, Fertility, and Reproductive Health

The App may flag certain ingredients with information about their potential relevance to pregnancy, fertility, or reproductive health (e.g., endocrine disruptors, teratogens). This information is general, educational, and sourced from publicly available research. It is not personalized medical advice, a diagnosis, or a clinical assessment. If you are pregnant, nursing, trying to conceive, or have any reproductive health concerns, consult your healthcare provider before making any decisions based on information from this App.

No Endorsement or Rejection of Products

Ahara does not endorse, recommend, approve, or reject any specific product, brand, or ingredient. Analysis results reflect AI-generated interpretations and do not constitute product certification, safety verification, or regulatory compliance assessment. The App is not affiliated with or endorsed by any government regulatory body, including but not limited to the FDA, EMA, EFSA, or any other food or drug authority.

Multiple Perspectives

The App may present ingredient analysis from multiple perspectives, including mainstream scientific, holistic, and alternative health viewpoints. The inclusion of any perspective does not constitute our endorsement of that viewpoint. Users should evaluate all information critically and consult qualified professionals.

3. User Accounts

• You are responsible for maintaining the security of your account credentials.
• You must be at least 13 years old to use the App.
• We reserve the right to suspend or terminate accounts that violate these terms.

4. Acceptable Use

You agree not to:

• Use the App for any unlawful purpose.
• Rely on the App as your sole source of information for health, dietary, or medical decisions.
• Attempt to gain unauthorized access to other users' accounts or data.
• Attempt to bypass or circumvent trial limits, scan limits, or subscription requirements.
• Use automated tools to scrape, crawl, or overload the service.
• Reverse engineer, decompile, or disassemble any part of the App.
• Submit content designed to manipulate, jailbreak, or extract the underlying instructions of the AI models used by the App.
• Redistribute, resell, or commercially exploit AI-generated content from the App.
• Use the sharing feature to distribute analyses in a misleading way, to imply endorsement or certification by us, or to harass, defame, or mislead any person or business.

5. Personal Goals

The App lets you optionally record dietary and health goals, which may include health conditions, so that scans can be assessed against them. This feature is provided for convenience and personalization only.

• Goal-fit results are not medical advice. A product shown as fitting your goals has not been assessed by a clinician and is not a recommendation to consume, apply, or avoid anything. All disclaimers in Section 2 apply in full to goal-based results.
• Allergy and intolerance goals do not make allergen detection reliable. Selecting an allergen goal does not guarantee the App will detect that allergen. See “Allergen Detection Is Not Reliable” in Section 2. If you have a severe allergy, always read the physical label and consult the manufacturer.
• You are responsible for the accuracy of the goals you enter. Inaccurate or incomplete goals will produce inaccurate results.
• You may remove your goals at any time in the App.

6. Sharing Analyses

The App lets you create a link to a product analysis and send it to other people.

• A share link is public. Anyone who has the link can view that analysis without an account or password. Do not share a link with anyone you do not intend to see it, and be aware that recipients can forward it.
• Shared pages do not include your identity or your health and dietary goals.
• Share links are deleted automatically 90 days after creation. You may ask us to delete one sooner by emailing the link to us.
• We may remove any shared analysis at any time, including for suspected misuse, without notice.
• By creating a share link you grant us permission to host and serve that analysis for the purpose of displaying it to people you send the link to.
• Content viewed through a share link is subject to the same disclaimers in Section 2. If you are viewing a shared analysis without using the App, you are still bound by these Terms in respect of that content.

7. Subscriptions & Payments

Ahara offers free and premium tiers. The free tier includes a limited number of scans. Premium tiers provide additional scans per month and may include additional features. Subscription terms, pricing, and billing are governed by the platform through which you subscribed (Apple App Store or Google Play Store). Refund requests should be directed to the respective platform in accordance with their refund policies.

8. Third-Party Service Providers

The App is delivered with the help of third-party service providers, including providers of AI models, authentication, database and cloud infrastructure, and app store billing. We may change, add, or remove service providers at any time without notice, provided the Service continues to operate substantially as described. Our Privacy Policy describes the categories of provider involved and how your data is handled by them.

9. Intellectual Property

All content, design, branding, and code within Ahara are the property of Alpha Intel Labs. AI-generated analysis results are created for your personal, non-commercial use and may not be commercially redistributed without written permission.

10. Privacy

Your use of the App is also governed by our Privacy Policy, which describes how we collect, use, and protect your data. By using the App, you consent to the practices described in the Privacy Policy.

11. Assumption of Risk

By using Ahara, you acknowledge and agree that:

• The App uses AI technology that is inherently imperfect and may produce incorrect or incomplete results.
• You are solely responsible for any decisions you make based on information provided by the App.
• You will not use the App as a substitute for professional medical, nutritional, or health advice.
• You understand the risks of relying on automated ingredient analysis, particularly regarding allergens, drug interactions, and health-sensitive ingredients.

12. Limitation of Liability

The App is provided "as is" and "as available" without warranties of any kind, either express or implied, including but not limited to implied warranties of merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, and non-infringement.

To the maximum extent permitted by applicable law, Alpha Intel Labs, its officers, directors, employees, agents, and affiliates shall not be liable for any direct, indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages arising from or related to your use of the App, including but not limited to:

• Allergic reactions, adverse health effects, or injury resulting from reliance on the App's ingredient analysis, allergen detection, or any other information provided by the App.
• Decisions made regarding diet, health, medication, pregnancy, or product use based on AI-generated content.
• Errors, inaccuracies, or omissions in AI-generated text extraction, ingredient identification, or analysis.
• Service interruptions, downtime, or data loss.
• Unauthorized access to or alteration of your data.

Our total aggregate liability to you for all claims arising from or related to the use of the App shall not exceed the amount you paid for the Service in the preceding 12 months, or $50 USD, whichever is greater.

Nothing in these Terms excludes or limits liability that cannot lawfully be excluded or limited, including liability for death or personal injury caused by negligence, or for fraud.

13. Indemnification

You agree to indemnify, defend, and hold harmless Alpha Intel Labs, its officers, directors, employees, and agents from any claims, liabilities, damages, losses, costs, or expenses (including reasonable attorneys' fees) arising from or related to your use of the App, your violation of these Terms, or your reliance on AI-generated content provided by the App.

14. Account Deletion

You may delete your account at any time from the Settings page within the App. This permanently removes all your data from our servers, including your profile and scan count records. Locally stored data (scan history, images, chat history) is removed when you clear it within the app or uninstall the app. This action is irreversible.

15. Changes to Terms

We may update these Terms at any time. We will notify you of material changes by posting the new terms on this page and updating the effective date. Continued use of the App after changes constitutes acceptance of the updated terms.

16. Governing Law and Disputes

These Terms are governed by the laws of the State of California, United States, without regard to its conflict of law rules. The United Nations Convention on Contracts for the International Sale of Goods does not apply.

Before filing anything, write to us at alphaintellabs@gmail.com and describe the problem. We will respond within 30 days, and most things end there.

If that does not resolve it, you and we agree that the state and federal courts located in California have exclusive jurisdiction, and each of us consents to venue there.

If you are a consumer, none of the above removes the protection of the mandatory consumer laws of the country or state where you live, or your right to bring proceedings there where local law gives you that right. Either of us may always bring an individual claim in small claims court.

17. Severability

If any provision of these Terms is held to be invalid or unenforceable, the remaining provisions shall continue in full force and effect.
